By analyzing the experimental results, it can be concluded tha the most appropriate HLB value of the emulsifying agents used in cotton scouring is 10.37～11.37, close to 10.75; Branched polyoxyethylene ethers showed good wetting permeability and excellent emulsifying property, andits performance is better than other emulsifying agents available like blocked and phenyl-polyoxyethylene ethers.
