The canonical Jingui Shenqi Wan is formulated mainly to reinforce the kidney yang, whereas Jisheng Shenqi, in which radix achyranthis bidentatae and semen plantaginis are added on top of Jinggui Shenqi Wan, is formulated to strengthen its function of diuresis and edema subsiding.
