ABSTRACTRadarsystemsimulationtechnologyiswidelyusedtobecomeanimportantmeans ofradaranalysis,design,experimentandevaluation.BasedontheresearchofXband GroundBasedRadar(GBR)simulationsystem,thisdissertationmainlydiscussesthe designandapplicationofits sub-systems: ReturnGeneration(RG) andSignal Processing(SP).Themain content and workin this dissertationcan besummarized as follows:ThisdissertationintroducestheprinciplesandworkingmodeofXbandGBR simulationsystem,mainlyanalyzesthefunctionofRGandSPsub-systems.Atotal designofRGandSPsimulationsub-systemsispresentedaccordingtothesystem requirements.AnapplicationofRGsimulationsub-systemisbroughtforwardinthis dissertation.In order to simulatethe return,aradar coherent videoecho model is usedto simulatetargetecho,clutterandnoiseseparately.Thenthethreepartswhichareinthe samerangecellareaddedtogethertoformamatrixtorepresentreturninoneradar CoherentProcessingInterval(CPI).Thismatrixiscalledaframeofrangedopplerdata. Tosimulatereturnaccurately,wesetseveralmodelsasfollows:targetRadarCross Section(RCS)model,targetantennamodulatingmodel,targetwavemodulatingmodel, noisemodel,clutter amplitudedistributedmodelandpowerspectrumdistributedmodel. Each of thesemodels hasbeen analyzedand simulated.AnapplicationofSPsimulationsub-systemisbroughtforwardinthis dissertation.TomakethedetectionprobabilityofXbandGBRsimulationsystemto meetrequirementsundercomplexenvironments,areasonabledesignofSPsub-system isveryimportant.BasedontheresearchofradarSPtechnologyandalgorithm,this dissertationputsforwardanapplicationofSPsimulationsub-system.Tosuppressthe clutter,noiseanddetecttarget,weadoptseveraladvancedSPmethodssuchaspulse compression,MTI,MTD,CFAR,amplitude-comparisonanglemeasurementand ambiguityresolution,ofwhichweemphasethealgorithmsofCFARandambiguity resolution. Two CFAR algorithms, Cell-Averaging CFAR(CA-CFAR) and OrderedStatisticCFAR(OS-CFAR)havebeenintroduced,aswellasseveralambiguity resolutionalgorithmssuchasChineseremainder,clusteringalgorithm,sliding
