AbstractStudentsevaluationofteachingisaqualitativeandquantitativeassessmentofteaching.Itisbasedoncertaincriteriaandisacomprehensivecognitionofthebasicelementsoftheteachingprocess.lth部部ousedagreatdebatesinceìtsappearance.Atpresentfocusofthedebatehasshi在:edfromwhethertocarryitout如howtoimproveitseffectiveness.Sinceitsvalidityisrelatedtostagesorstepssuchasstudentsperceptionofit，constructionofthecriterionsystem，operatingproceduresinitsimplementation，studentsability，andtheapplicationandexplanationoftheresults，aprofoundandcomprehensivestudyonitseffectivenesshasboththeoreticalandpracticalsigni白cancetothereformofhigheducationinChina.TheauthorholdsthattheeffectivenessofstudentsevaluationofteachingisthekeytoalltheprobJemsconcernedanditisalsothebottleneckofthereformofhigheducationsystcminChina.Thebasicpointsincludehowtorealizeitsdueeffectivenessandhowtoenhanceandimproveitseffectiveness，thatis，whetherstudentsevaluationofteachingcanhelptoimproveteaching，promoteteachingquaJityandbringbenefitstothemutualdevelopmentofstudentsandteachers.Itgivestheissueofeffectivenesssuchfeaturesasexpansible，c.onstructivcandnegotiabJe.Besides，theauthorholdsthatthispracticehasgreatsignificanceinexpandingthefreedomandautonomyofteachingandinspreadingdemocraticideasandconcepts.Thekeyofitseffectivenessfiesinitsreasonableandorderlyconstructionandeffectiveeliminationoftheinterferingfactorsintheevaluation，whichrequiresasoundgraspandimprovementofthereliabilityandvalidityofstudentsevaluationofteaching.Tomeetthedemands，asetofscientificandeffectiveevaluatingcriteriashouldbesetup，regulatedandorderlyoperatingproceduresshouldbeguaranteed，andexchangeandexplanationoftheresultsshouldbeemphasized.Inordertoresolvetheeffectiveproblemsofstudentsevaluationteaching，suchstrategiesshouldbeconsideredtoadopt:(1)bidirectionaltrainingshouldbeprovidedtothestudents，whoseabilitydeterminestheeffectivenessofevaluation;(2)studentsevaluationofteachingshouldbeonascientific，standardizedandsystemizedtrackbecausetheimprovementoftheevaluatin
