AbstractStudentsevaluationofteachingisaqualitativeandquantitativeassessmentofteaching.Itisbasedoncertaincriteriaandisacomprehensivecognitionofthebasicelementsoftheteachingprocess.lth部部ousedagreatdebatesinceìtsappearance.Atpresentfocusofthedebatehasshi在:edfromwhethertocarryitout如howtoimproveitseffectiveness.Sinceitsvalidityisrelatedtostagesorstepssuchasstudentsperceptionofit,constructionofthecriterionsystem,operatingproceduresinitsimplementation,studentsability,andtheapplicationandexplanationoftheresults,aprofoundandcomprehensivestudyonitseffectivenesshasboththeoreticalandpracticalsigni白cancetothereformofhigheducationinChina.TheauthorholdsthattheeffectivenessofstudentsevaluationofteachingisthekeytoalltheprobJemsconcernedanditisalsothebottleneckofthereformofhigheducationsystcminChina.Thebasicpointsincludehowtorealizeitsdueeffectivenessandhowtoenhanceandimproveitseffectiveness,thatis,whetherstudentsevaluationofteachingcanhelptoimproveteaching,promoteteachingquaJityandbringbenefitstothemutualdevelopmentofstudentsandteachers.Itgivestheissueofeffectivenesssuchfeaturesasexpansible,c.onstructivcandnegotiabJe.Besides,theauthorholdsthatthispracticehasgreatsignificanceinexpandingthefreedomandautonomyofteachingandinspreadingdemocraticideasandconcepts.Thekeyofitseffectivenessfiesinitsreasonableandorderlyconstructionandeffectiveeliminationoftheinterferingfactorsintheevaluation,whichrequiresasoundgraspandimprovementofthereliabilityandvalidityofstudentsevaluationofteaching.Tomeetthedemands,asetofscientificandeffectiveevaluatingcriteriashouldbesetup,regulatedandorderlyoperatingproceduresshouldbeguaranteed,andexchangeandexplanationoftheresultsshouldbeemphasized.Inordertoresolvetheeffectiveproblemsofstudentsevaluationteaching,suchstrategiesshouldbeconsideredtoadopt:(1)bidirectionaltrainingshouldbeprovidedtothestudents,whoseabilitydeterminestheeffectivenessofevaluation;(2)studentsevaluationofteachingshouldbeonascientific,standardizedandsystemizedtrackbecausetheimprovementoftheevaluatin
