AbstractThe development of languages is affected by the corresponding changes of the society. The Russian society has witnessed enormous changes in recent years, promoting the development of Russian. Blossoms in lexicons, especially loaded words in Russian, have become the most sensitive part to undergo changes. With its international position getting increased, English has gained great popularities throughout the world. Meanwhile, English has become the sources for new lexicons in many foreign languages, among which Russian has been affected much. Since the language contact began around the 16th century, Russian has experienced several climaxes of English loaded words and the fields range greatly.The loaded words perform as marks of Russian social changes, which not only define the upcoming creations and phenomena as well as new concepts, but also make remarkable contributions to enrich Russian vocabularies.The present thesis conducts analysis and research on the English loanwords in Russian, based on the language contact theory. It not only reviews on the characteristics of English loanwords in different historical periods as well as in different applied fields, but also analyzes the internal factors bringing forth the development of loanwords from the perspective of languages. It is necessary to connect the English-Russian language contact, mixtures of codes, language interferences and other social language phenomena with the language loaded process.Three stages has been clarified for the loaded process of English, namely, the penetration stage, the assimilation stage as well as the stable stage. It can be concluded that, during the contract stage, English words perform in form of pure English words, English-Russian compound words and English description words in Russian, some of which have survived and become the English loaded wordsduring the process of Russian social selections. After English words were introduced into Russian, they are demanded to fit the Ru
