It isn’t caused by victim’s personal damages or the property harm. For its wide existence in unspecified economic relations, ricochet loss causes the uncertainty of responsibility and becomes one of the types that economic compensation could be most difficult to be realized due to the ambiguity of its contour and extension. This article introduces two of the most representative compensation modes of pure economic loss. By comparing French mode and German mode, I analyze relevant Chinese law, judicial practice and relevant theory. I put forward some own views on the legal relief of ricochet loss.Apart from the introduction and the conclusion, the essay article is divided into four chapters, the main contents are as follows:Chapter One is a brief overview of the basic theory of pure economic loss. Firstly, on the basis of comparative analysis of related theories, I summarize the core connotation and the basic characteristic of pure economic loss.
