Preventive and Therapeutic Effect of Wu Ling San on High Salt Induced Lamb Urinary Calculi Abstract The urinary calculi of male lamb were induced by gradually increasing content of phosphorus and magnesium in the daily ration and the preventive and therapeutic effect of Wu Ling San on Lamb induced Urinary Calculi were observed afterwards in this experiment. Induced stones and the therapeutic effects were determined by the observation on symptoms of experimental sheep and the stone formation in urinary tracts. The correlations between sheep urinary Calculi and blood, urine electrolyte; and the index for renal function were defined through the observation on urine sediments and the component analysis on bladder stones, and the determination of sodium, potassium, chlorine, calcium, magnesium, inorganic phosphorous, ammonia, urea nitrogen, creatinine contents in both serum and urine; total protein content in serum and urine protein content; and the evidence from analytical results of data software. The results showed as follow: Lamb urinary calculus were successfully induced through feeding high phosphorus and high magnesium daily ration. The results of X-ray fluorescence spectrometer showed that the chemical composition of bladder formulated stones were mainly magnesium and phosphorus. Furthermore, the crystal form of urine sediment was also matched up to struvite precipitation form. Blood Phosphorus, magnesium, urea and creatinine contents were increased signific- antly in the process of urinary calculi formation. Phosphorus and magnesium in urine were first increased and then decreased but the content of urea, creatinine in urine were decreas- ed, and the urine protein contents were increased all among the proceed. Those evidence suggested that the high phosphorus and high magnesium feeds Increased blood phosphorus and high magnesium firstly and then increased urine phosphorus and magnesium contents. After that, phosphorus and magnesium were participated in th
