Moreover, an increasing number of people pay close attention to the environment of living, working and studying with the improvement of living standards. So the building decoration industry has broad market prospects in the future, however, the market competition is else becoming more and more fierce. Under the coexistence of both opportunities and challenges, building decoration business must improve cost control awareness, enhance cost control level, increase the ability of management for benefit, further strengthen the market competition power and make building decoration business grow up healthily. From the point of building decoration business, take Y hotel decoration project for example, the paper discusses the general existing problem and disadvantage which decoration project cost control. The problem which Y hotel project cost control can reflect general issue about this industry, it is typical. The paper finds several problems about the project by comparing and analyzing:1.its cost control power is weak and organization is poor; 2.cost control doesn’t achieve systematization ; 3.cost measurement isn’t accurate and cost accounting way is too simple. By analyzing, the paper obtains the main causes which including poor cost control awareness, the incomplete of company regulation, weak cost control foundation and no achieving cost control information construction.
