On the one hand, the starch-based foam composite has good biodegradation to replace non-biodegradable foamed plastic especially EPS, so it makes for relieving the problems of white pollution and oil shortage; On the other hand, it is helpful to improve the added value of starch and add agricultural economic benefits; However, there are some common problems of the starch-based foam composite, such as poor compatibility and water resistance, cells with uniform distribution and low expansion rate and rebound rate. Therefore, performance of starch-based foam composite is still not as good as EPS and limits its wide application in the market. If we can get breakthrough the above problems, it will bring hope for its application in the market. In the bamboo power/starch foam composites ( PFRSP ) were prepared with starch as matrix, strengthened by bamboo power, modified with additives as plasticizer, compatilizer, foamer and processed by injection foaming. Firstly, starch was plasticized by glycerol/DOP to explore the plasticizing mechanism; PVA was used to research interface mechanism of fiber/starch composite; The influence of glycerol/DOP、fiber、PVA content and temperature on the melt rheology was researched. Secondly, it was investigated that glycerol/DOP 、 bamboo power 、 foamer 、 PVA content and extrusion molding process parameters (extrusion temperature, extrusion pressure, extrusion frequency) effected in composites’ apparent density, expansion raterebound rate, degradability, melt rheology and cell expansion.
