Abstract
Discourse markers are quite common in daily spoken communication. It is a language phenomenon and conversation strategy which is at the level of discourse and can convey the subjectivity of speakers. It plays a quite important role in Oral Teaching of TCSL. On the basis of researches we have, this article observes and studies the DMs in the Oral Teaching of TCSL in the round. The research contents consist of three aspects as follows:
First, this article investigates the typical DMs in Oral Teaching. I’ve observed and
studied the typical DMs of postgraduate teachers and students separately and classified them according to syntax. Comparing the DMs of teachers and students,this article reveals that the acquisition of DMs of students mostly stems from simulating teachers,so
it reflects the importance of the using of DMs of teachers. Meanwhile, it studies the process of the acquisition of DMs of students, so points out the characteristics of it in different periods and the difficulties of the acquisition of DMs of students in high level.
Second, this article summarizes the functions of DMs in Oral Teaching. It sorts out the functions of DMs of teachers and students and proves the significance of them. Moreover, comparing the functions of DMs of teachers and students, it testifies again that students simulate the use of DMs from teachers. At the same time, it analyses the students’ process of mastering DMs, so as to conclude the characteristics of different levels and the students’ difficulties of understanding, mastering and applying the functions of DMs in high level.
Third, this article proposes the application strategy of DMs. According to investigation, problems when teachers are using DMs are found and classified,so as to
prove into influences that those problems have on the acquisition of DMs of students. Then, this article proposes feasible instructional strategies for oral teachers of different gradation.
