As the synthesizer of the culture which they each belongs to, China and America have some dissonances when intercultural communication happens. With the combination of the authentic research which is highly approved in academe and the authors Chinese-teaching experience in Cleveland High School, Portland, Oregon, United States, this thesis elaborates the cultural differences between China and America from the angles of value, time and thinking mode, which lays the foundation of the comparison between the education of China and America. As a teacher who teaches Chinese as a second language, the author also made recommendations for the fraternity so that the teacher and students come from different cultures can understand and respect each others culture and help countries with the intercultural communication and the development of friendship.
