Herman MelvilleHerman Melville was born in 1819 in New York City. The ancestor is prominent family in Scotland. The ship finally dropped anchor at a beautiful island of the Marquesas located in the South Pacific Ocean that Herman Melville later used as a setting of his novel Typee.?In his days of floating on the sea, his sailing experience gave him the rich material on writing. He began to write after he comes back from the sea between 1846 and 1852. His works include Typee in 1846 that is a novel based on his life with the person who eats human flesh; Omoo in 1847, a novel about his life in Tahiti.
