AbstractAbstract Abstract Abstract current design methods of subgrade are based on static theories,this does not accord with the fact.especially for low embankment.The traffic load is a kind of dynamic load, so it is obviously insufficient to regard it as static load nearly.W“h the development of economy and transportation in China,traffic volume,vehicle speed and loading capacity are increasing and influences of traffic load on the subgrade is higher than before. Therefore,it is necessary that the design method of snbgrade changes from static theory to dynamic method.Through field test on dynamic response of subgrade and laboratory test on cyclic triaxial experiment.this paper studies the problems that how traffic load act on the sub2rade.The main contents of the paper are as follows: 1.According to the characteristics of low embankment,this Paper analyzes the mechanism and role of traffic load acting on the subgrade,and then abbreviates describing methods of the vehicle load in math.The theory of traffic load acting on the subgrade is analyzed,the rigidity of pavement and embankment and the height of embankment affecting to the extra stress transmission from static aspect are discussed,changing pattern of extra stress and mechanism of dynamic response under the traffic load from dynamic aspect is discussed.and the field test from theories is prepared. 2.Through earthquake system and stress sensor,the method of testing the vibrate displacement of subgrade and testing the dynamic response of subgrade is studied fie!dly. According to the result.the weaken rule of dvnamic stress and displacement in the subgrade is discussed,the influence of vehicle 10ad and vehicle speed acting on the dynamic stress and displacement in the subgrade is analyzed,and the rigidity of pavement acting on the dynamic stress in the subgrade through comparing the testing datas of different sections. 3.Based on data of the field test.the cyclic dynamic load of vehicle acting on the subgrade thr
