Guessing game. Show some pictures and key words to guess what it is or who I am (an elephant, Jackie Chan, Yaoming , noodles, Miss li, and birthday) 2.Discuss: What do you often do or eat on birthday? II. Presentation Step 1 . Show some pictures to present some new words and expressions to the Ss. Eg. Cake with candles blow out and make a wish bring good luck to etc. Step 2 Ss read the passage quickly for the first time,and find three foods and two countries mentioned in the passage. (cake, noodles, eggs ,China and the UK) Step 3 First the teacher introduce the article one sentence by one, meanwhile , explain some importand points and ask some questions which include the ones in 2C . Step 4. Ss listen to the tape and answer the questions in 2C by themselves and check the answers. Step 5. Work in groups Ss read the article again and finish 2b, complete the chart in groups.
