II II Abstract Since initiating the reforms and open policy, Jiangxi economic has developed very quickly. However, compared with urban resident consumption and investment growth, rural consumption demand is seriously insufficient. Therefore, how to expand the rural resident consumption, and how rural resident consumption play the key role in economic growth are very important. First, this thesis describes the changes of rural resident consumption in Jiangxi province, and then mainly uses the empirical analysis method to research the relations between the total consumption and consumption structure and economic growth, further to explore the changes and the regularity of the features of Jiangxi rural resident consumption. The purpose is to reveal the important role of rural resident consumption in Jiangxi economic growth, and put forward the corresponding countermeasures in promoting rural resident consumption and stimulating economic growth. This thesis are totally five chapters, main contents are as follows: The first chapter, introduction. The part briefly discusses the background and significance of the topic selection, then combos the literatures on consumption and economic growth at home and abroad, lastly, introduces the thesis train of thought and method. The second chapter, the theory on consumption and economic growth and some related definitions. This part basically uses qualitative method to define the resident consumption and economic growth, and other related concepts, and then, from the total consumption demand and consumption demand structure discusses the action mechanism of consumption on economic growth. The third chapter, the analysis on the current status of Jiangxi rural resident consumption. This part analyzes Jiangxi rural resident consumption from the macroscopic and microscopic perspectives and use ELES model to analysis Jiangxi per capita consumption.
