II II Abstract The study of Guo Runwen oil painting modeling and style The study of Guo Runwen oil painting modeling and style Abstract Portrayal canvas are indispensable part of the history of the development of Chinese canvas , especially after the establishment of the PRC , known for a portrait painter , Mr. Guo Runwen is one of the contemporary Chinese portrayal canvas figures with more than 30 years professional experience. Guo Runwen figure painting techniques carried on not only the Western tradition , but also traditional Chinese culture. In a certain extent, he is arepresentative of contemporary Chinese realist painting figures .Firstly This paper give a brief overview of the development of contemporary Chinese painting, and then we will make a general introduction of Mr. Guo Runwen in Art History and his achievements for a foreshadowing that we can study his canvas modeling and painting style. To study Mr. Guo Runwen portrayal canvas separately from the composition shape , four colors, techniques .In the end, selected Guo Runwen specific pieces of work of art history to analyze a representative study .In recent years ,the problem ， confronted with Chinese painting, is lack of nationality. As one of China oil painters , Mr. Guo Runwen ’s painting at the same time with its traditional Western painting techniques as well as Chinese nations spirit, and his oil painting is a good combination of Chinese and Western cultures. While Guo Runwen’ works in the field of realist painting in China, no doubt played a important role in promoting the development of Chinese painting. Moreover, his oil painting has made a contribution to the development of Chinese oil painting.
