AbstractChinese Abstract Chinese minority traditional medicine Artemisia frigida Willd for Mongolian and clinical drug commonly used to stop bleeding，has a long history of curative effect．It was used widely in the Mongolian region and has great value for future development．A systematic study of the chemical composition has been carried out with a view to the majority of ethnic minority people of the region’S medical and health． During this experimental study,we use the system pre-testing method to pre-test its comprehensive chemical composition，which would give a preliminary understanding of wide range of chemical composition． The results show that Minge contain falvonoid，terpenoids，tannins， phenols，steroids，organic acids and other ingredients． According to the solvent extraction and orthogonal experimental design method，the content of rutin as the standard，the concentration of solvent，solid—liquid ratio，extraction time on extraction yield of flavonoids had been tested to find out the optimum conditions as the best extraction process to determine the total flavonoids．Our results offered a scientific and economic basis for the preparation of total flavonoids． By using gas chromatography mass spectrometry technology,pa ns of the Mongolian medicine Artemisia frigida Willd extracted by ethy acetate were separated and analyzed to determine the 21 major components，including(R)Eucalyptol，(M)Undecane，4，7-dimethyl-， III (M)Bicyclo[2．2．1]heptan一2一one，1,7，7·trimethyl一，(1R)一，(R)Bomeol，(R)C (M)Bicyclo[2．2．1]heptan一2一one，1,7，7·trimethyl一，(1R)一，(R)Bomeol，(R)C yclobutaneethanol，1-methyl一2-(1-methylethenyl)一，(1R-cis)一(R)Eicosane， (M)Limonene，(M)1-Hydroxymethyl-7，7一dimethylbicyclo[2．2．1]heptan一 2-one，(M)(一)-Spathulenol，(R)Tetradecanoic acid，(M)3，7，11，15一Tetra methyl-2-hexadecen一1·ol，(M)lsocitronellol，(R)n—Hexadecanoic acid， (R)9，12一Octadecadienoic acid(Z，z)·，(M)9·Octadecenoic acid，(E)一，(R) Octadecanoic acid，(M)Heneicosane，(R)1-Docosene，(R)Heptacosane， (M)Octacosane，(
