美国优秀篮球教练员成长经历研究 美国优秀篮球教练员成长经历研究 万方数据 万方数据 ABSTRACT This paper selects the most representative, prestigious and influential ten coaches from the NCAA and NBA basketball league of the USA as the research object. There are five NCAA coaches among them, that is John Wooden, Dean Smith, Tom Izzo, Mike Krzyzewski and Don Haskins; five NBA coaches, that is Phil Jackson, Arnold Auerbach, Pat Riley, Gregg Popovich and Larry Brown, by adopting literature method, expert interview method, mathematical statistic method and logical analysis method to analyze the growth experience of ten American excellent basketball coaches. On the analysis of their growth experience, taking their education experience, basketball player experience, work and practical experience, head coach experience and basketball background into consideration, summarizing and analyzing their common characteristics in the process of growth and maturity, so as to benefit the cultivation of Chinese coaches, especially for the cultivation of Chinese basketball coaches. The main research results are as follows: Ten American excellent basketball coaches all accepted 12 years basic education and averaged 4.2 years higher education, they got bachelor degree at the age of 22.2 averaged and the way to get it is studying over playing basketball. Seven got bachelor’s degree and three got master’s degree when graduated; eight degrees were arts and two were science of their final degree. The results of this study show that good education experience is the knowledge foundation for their growth, to some degree, higher education degree and arts knowledge can contribute to the coaches’ growth. Ten American excellent basketball coaches had an averaged 6.2 years professional experience as basketball player, which shows that professional sport experience is one of the essential factors for becoming an excellent basketball coach.
