VIEWS VIEWS ON THE LANDSCAPE DESIGN OF YUELU ACADEMY Abstract The Yuelu Academy was built in the North Song Dynasty by Zhu Dong of Tan Zhou satrap． The real time may be properly backed to the Five Dynasties，end of Tang Dynasty．Finally,it becomes to the Hunan University today after the development and reform in the dynasties．The author gives an overall analysis on the current landscape design of Yuelu Academy through field studying，shooting，measuring and SO on，in order to discover the base profiles of landscape design of the academy which is the harmony of artificial landscape wim natural landscape．The landscape sequence and the landscape of academy are arranged following the core landscape that is at the longitudinal axis from the east to the west．Using the existing terrain，buildings，water, etc，the green system that is eombined by the distribution point，line and surface is in order to make the view configuration and the green function complement and rely on each other，to form the environment that is harmony between the artificial and natural environment at the time of creating the multi—lever and open space．The points that are conducive to the contemporary landscape design at the University ale elaborated in the paper． Using that as a starting point of innovation，the paper strengthen the orientation of humanity, ecology,aesthetic values and the conservation and heritage of the historical contexts，basing the exploring the historical genes of Yuelu Academy．The before academy has becomes to all important part of the modem university as time goes by．It’S conducive to the contemporary landscape design of university,for example，the outstanding projects of construction space shape and landscape design．Now,building new university city and expanding campus have become an important part of modem universities because of the effects of society,economics and cultures． The paper use its successful planning concepts and approaches through studying the landscape of Yuelu Academy,i
