Pilot Study on the Tourism Urbanization of Mountain Resorts ——The Case Study of Jiuhua Mountain Abstract Patrick Mullins put tourism urbanization forward in 1991. In order to provide a series of service to tourists, including traffic, accommodation, visiting, entertainment, shopping and so on, many people are gathered in tour area, so tourist town was emerged. This process was been called tourism urbanization. Tourism and urbanization have great development in our country these years. As a result of lacking harmonizing the development of tourist town and tourism, the tourism urbanization was emerged in the inner of scenic spots, which will have a series of bad effect on tourism, and restrict the development of tourist town. The paper try to analyze the tourism urbanization of mountain resorts and find a way to promote the sustainable development of tourism and tourist town. As the example of Jiuhua Mountain, quantitative and qualitative analysis methods were used to construct the comprehensive evaluating index system and quantitatively assess the tourism urbanization level of the inner scenic spot of Jiuhua Mountain. According to these statistical data, the effect of tourism urbanization on economy, environment, tourist and residents’ life of tour regions can be analyzed, then provide corresponding development stratagem. The paper was divided into six chapters. In Chapter 1, research background, meaning and the study status at the overseas and domestic about tourism urbanization were expounded. In Chapter 2, theory basis of this paper were analyzed. In Chapter 3, comprehensive assessment index system of tourism urbanization level in Jiuhua Mountain was analyzed and put forward, AHP and factor analysis etc mathematics methods were used to calculate the quantitative result of tourism urbanization in Jiuhua Mountain since 1990s, then provide the development tendency of tourism urbanization in Jiuhua Mountain.
