形合与意合 Hypotactic vs. Paratactic 形合 ? 所谓形合，指的是句中的词语或分句之间用 语言形式手段（如）关联词连接起来，表达 语法意义和逻辑关系．据 American Heritage Dictionary, “The dependent or subordinate construction or relationship of clauses with connectives, for example, I shall despair if you dont come.” 英语造句主要采用形合法 （ Hypotaxis ） . 意合 ? 所谓意合，指的是词语或分句之间不用语言 形式手段连接，句中的语法意义和逻辑关系 通过词语或分句的含义表达．据 The World Book Dictionary “The arranging of clauses one after the other without connective showing the relation between them.” 汉语造 句主要采用意合法 （ parataxis ） 英语的形合法 ? 英语常用各种形式手段连接词语、短语、分句或从 句，注重显性接应 （ overt cohesion ），注重句子 形式、结构完整，注重以形显意。以下是英语句中 的连接手段和形式： ? １．关系词和连接词 ? 关系词包括关系代词、关系副词，如 who, whom, whose, that, which, what, when, where, why, how 等用来连接主句与定语从句、主语从句、宾语从句 或表语从句。 ? 连接词包括并列连词和从属连词，如 and, or, but, yet, so, however, as well as…… ? When, while, as, since, until, so…that, unless, lest 等用来连接词、词组、分句、或 状语从句 . ? 英语中这些关系词和连接词应用极其广泛 ? 1).
