T: Boys and girls , what did you usually do in the morning before school? Ss may answer: I got up ,washed my face ,took a shower, had breakfast…… T:From your answers, I know everyone has a lot of things to do in the morning .If we get up late in the morning ,we’ll be very busy. Students fill in the blanks, then check the answers by asking some students to tell their answers. Grammar. First, let students pay attention to the words of “by the time” “had gotten” “had left”. Second, encourage students to find out the new grammar and tell the difference between the past tense and the past perfect tense. Third, encourage students to make sentences with the past perfect tense.
