Teaching Aims 1.Knowledge objects (1)The Ss can learn some key words and useful expressions. (2)The Ss can use the Objective clauses and exclamatory statements. (3)The Ss can talk about Christmas and understand the true meaning of Christmas 2.Ability objects (1) Develop the Ss’ abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing. (2) Guide Ss to set up effective studying strategies. (3) Improve the student’s reading ability, especially skimming and scanning ability. (4) Train the Ss’ abilities of studying by themselves and cooperating . 3.Emotion or moral objects (1)By completing the task, the Ss increase their interest in English reading,and set up self-confidence in English learning. (2)Teach the Ss to use their own ideas, put the moral education in the language study. Teaching important and difficult points: 1.The important points: (1)To get an overall understanding of the whole text,and develop their reading skills such as inferring ,skimming, scanning, summarizing language points… (2)The usage of the Objective clauses. 2.The Difficult points: (1)Get the Ss to use the new word and phrases to express their ideas in daily life, and develop the ability of skimming and scanning. (2).master the usage of Objective clauses. Teaching Aids: a computer, blackboard Teaching methods Communicative Approach,Whole Language Teaching,Task-based Language Teaching,Total Situational Action,Computer Aided Instruction and Inspiring Assessment. The procedures of the teaching Step 1Before-reading 1. “Jingle bells ”, T prepare for the class and Ss enjoy the music. 2.Free talk. Ask: What festival do you think this song is about? What’s your favourite festival? Then T shows a picture of Christmas and asks: “What do you know about Christmas?” Ss talk with partner.(December 25th,Christmas tress, Santa Claus, gifts,stockings ,sing Christmas songs, make Christmas trees, family gathering, get a lot of presents…) Purpose: activate the Ss to regard the topic of the spirit of Ch
