We all know that translation plays a significant role in the modern society. It is the bridge for the people from all over the world to communicate and understand each other. Through Lu Xun’s novels and their translations, this thesis introduced two well-known translators, Yang Xianyi and William Lyell, who have both win a high reputation in the world, then I made a comparison between their two different versions of Kong Yiji from different aspects. He is one of the greatest writers of modern In 1918, Lu Xun published A Madman’s Diary in the magazine New Youth. Then he wrote a great number of well-known stories such as The True Story of Ah Q, which is famous for attacking reality in the dark old society, furthermore, it makes Lu Xun be a famous author all over the world. Between 1923and 1935, those short stories wrote by Lu Xun are collected in three collections, Call to Arms (1923), Wandering (1926) and Old Stories Retold (1935). They have greatly influenced Chinese Literature in modern society. As the father of Modern Chinese Literature, Lu Xun wins a high reputation in the Chinese literature of modern society.
