Unit 1 Know yourself Comic strip Welcome to the unit 教学目标 通过本课时的教学,让学生达成以下目标: 1.知识目标 掌握单词和短语:creative, curious, energetic, modest, organized, order,grammar, neither, nor, accountant, eat up, keep…in order, show off, come up with, neither…nor…。 2.能力目标 学会描述人物的性格特征。 3.情感目标 了解人物性格特征以及喜欢的工作,培养良好的个人品质。 重点难点 重点:学习描述人物性格特征的词和短语,并能灵活使用。 难点:能描述自己或他人的性格特征。 教学准备 PPT 课件;相关图片。 授课时数 1课时 教学过程 Step 1 Lead-in Show a question “What kind of person are you?” and ask the students to talk about the problem. T: What kind of person are you? S:… Step 2 Presentation 1. Show the students some pictures and present some new words. (1)like asking questions—curious (2)keeping everything in order—organized (3)never show off—modest (4)have a good sense of humour—humorous (5)be full of energy—energetic (6)come up with new ideas—creative 2. Ask the students to think about other words to describe a person. active, outgoing, careful, careless, honest, friendly… Step 3 Practice 1. Ask the students to talk about their own personality using the words. 2. Deal with A on Page 7. Choose the words to fill in the blanks. Answers: 1. organized 2. modest 3. patient 4. creative 5. curious 6. energetic 3. Deal with B. (1)Show some questions. Ask them to listen to the tape twice and answer the questions. Questions: ①What’s Millie’s personality? ②Do Paul’s parents think he can make a good accountant? Why or why not? ③What job does Sandy like? Why? ④What do you know about David?
