The reading material is about the topic“should friends be the same or different”, which is close to school life . The context presented three opinions about this question and listed some details to support their issue. The passage aims to enhance the usage of comparative degree for students, by using reading strategies from skimming to intensive reading ,students may know more sentence patterns to describe differences and similarities between their friends, it can also cultivate students’ ability to extensively think about question in life . It’s also a good way to lead students choose friend thoughtfully,also it can remind students treasure friendship with their friend. 学情分析Analysis of the students Students in Grade eight are more active and they are eager to know more people, they want to make more friend to enrich their life and lower lack of understanding from their parents. But whether they can make a nice friend is unbeknown.This reading topic is just about friend, it can not only lead students to master useful expression to describe their friends, but also it can give a positive guidance for students to think and choose friend thoughtfully. 教学目标Teaching objectives Knowledge and Ability Aims : After this class, students can master words like serious, mirror, kid, both, grade and expressions like: It’s + adj. +for sb. to do sth. …, both…and, as long as, in fact, as…as, bring out, the same as, be similar to, etc. For ability, students can understand opinions of the three students and they can use comparative degree to describe similarities and differences about their friends.
