Teaching aims:
(一)Knowledge aims
1. Help students to learn to speak and spell the new words: happy, sad, angry, hungry, thirsty, drank.
2. Help the students to learn and use the target sentences: She was very happy. She was thirsty. She drank some water.
(二)Ability aims
1. Help students to learn to talk about their days and feelings in the past tense.
2. Help students to train their reading and writing skills.
(三)Emotional aims
Help students to improve their sense of cooperation and arouse their interests in English learning.
Teaching points and difficulties
(一)Points
1. Help students to learn and use the new words: hungry, thirsty, drank
2. Help students to learn to use the target sentences: She was very happy. She was thirsty. She drank some water.
(二)Difficulties
1. It’s difficult for students to read and write a short passage to describe their feelings.
2. Help students learn to express their feelings fluently.
Teaching methods:
Task-based teaching method;
Cooperative learning method;
Teaching preparation
Cards, pictures, PPT, flash, and so on.
Teaching procedures
Step 1: Warm-up
Greeting.
T: are you ready for class? Ss: Yes, I am.
At first, let’s sing a happy song.
T; are you happy? Ss: yes, I am.
T: how about them? Is she happy? Let’s talk together.
And then, teacher show students some pictures of someone’s feelings, let the students talk freely.
Review some words about feelings, happy sad angry bored…
Step 2:Lead-in
Look at the pictures, and pay attention to the three children
How do they feel?
Happy surprised excited
Listen to the tape and find the answers, and teach something about “变脸”
T: they are watching an opera. Do you know the opera’s name? It’s Sichuan Opera. In Chinese 变脸 So look at that. What color is it? He is happy. What color is his face? Now he is sad. And he is angry. And he can change his face quickly. How amazing! Children please remember this opera’s nam
