The students will be able to understand the conversation about inventions; 2. The students will be able to talk about how inventions have changed people’s lives. 教具准备 Multi-media 师生活动过程 设计意图 Step 1 Lead-in 1. Guess Describe an object and let Ss guess what it is. 2. Present pictures of some inventions and let Ss say who invented them and when. 3. Present some new creative inventions that are related to our daily lives. Make Ss understand that invention is not difficult and far away from us. 4. Ask Ss to look at the pictures in Activity 1 and answer three questions. 5. Pair work. Present three pictures and ask Ss to make a dialogue to talk about one invention. A: Which of these inventions do you think is the most important? B: I think … is the most important. A: Why? B: Because it … Step 2 Listening 1. A2: Read through the sentences and ask them to listen to the conversation and complete the sentences. 2. Listen again and check their answers. Call back answers from the class and check them with the class. Step 3 Listening and reading 1. Ask Ss to listen to the conversation and answer some questions. 2. Read the summary of the conversation. Underline the wrong information and correct it. 3. Role read the conversation in pairs and Read Everyday English and work out the meaning from the dialogue. Then ask Ss to choose one of the expressions in Everyday English and make a conversation. 4. Read the conversation again and complete
