So intercultural communication has played an important role in every filed. According to Song Li:?“Today, the development in science and technology, especially the advancement in transportation and the telecommunication has literally shrunk the world into a?“global village”, where people of different colors and language can easily transcend the limits of time and space and get in touch with one another.”1When we entered WTO in 2001, China can’t avoid trading with other countries directly. All the Chinese people face with both opportunities and challenges. He Weixiang said,?“Failure to communicate effectively might ruin business opportunities and lack of intercultural communication knowledge often lead to the miscommunication.”2Therefore, intercultural communication becomes the decisive factors in activities. If each of us can have good intercultural communication ability, we can communicate with others from different cultures successfully. Our society will be more progressive; our economy will become more prosperous.?Since intercultural communication is so important, what is intercultural communication? As to the definition of intercultural communication, different people have different ideals. In this thesis, we adopt Zhang Ailin’s definition of intercultural communication.
