T e information about arsenic species in samples was provided by ig performance liquid c ro2 matograp y- inductively coupled plasma2mass spectrometer (HPLC2ICP2MS) and electrospray tandem mass spectrometry (ES2MS2MS) . T e arsenic species in t irty C inese edible seafoods, including algae, fis , crab, s rimp, mussels, oysters, and clams popularly ingested by C inese people as regular foods, were examined in t e present report. Arsenosugars were detected in all of t e extracted algae samples ( 115) 3318Lg# g- 1 dry weig t) and some s ellfis samples (01018) 0178Lg# g- 1 wet weig t) . Arseno2 betaine was detected in all of t e extracted fis and s ellfis samples ( 01025) 61604Lg# g- 1 wet weig t) . In contrast, inorganic arsenic was only present in t e examined fis and s ellfis samples, at levels less t an 2% of t e total arsenic.
