It ho lds tha t qualitative m ethods and the m ethod o f single factor ana lys is have m a in ly been u sed in functional sty listics. The m ethods tha t can be u sed in functional sty listics in the fu ture m a inly consist of tw o m ajor types: ver ify ing m ethods and inferring m ethods, each includ ing the ir subcategor ies.
