M ethod s: The exp re ssion of o steop on tin and MM P - 9 in 62 p atien t sw ith cervical ca rcinom a o f stage - I an d II we re de te rm ined u sing mi munoh istoch em i stry ( ) SP m ethod . Re su lt s: There w ere h igh exp ression rate s for o steopon tin and MMP - 9 in the case s of squamous cancer ( stage - I an d Ⅱ) . The exp re ssion ra te of o steop on t in in stage - Ⅰ, Ⅱ and in the ca se sw ith lymp h nod e m etastasis w ere 7 3. 8% and 85% resp ec tively, wh ile tha t o f MMP - 9 w ere 66. 7% and 7 5%. Th e exp ression of MMP - 9 and o steop on tin wa s high er in dep th of strom al infiltrat ion by the cervical carc inoma ≥1/ 2 , comp ared to th at of tumors w ith an infiltrat ion dep th o f less than 1/ 2 ( P 0. 05) .
