Methods: Male SD rats were administered by L NAME to form hypertensive nephropathy, then the rats were administered by fluvastatin, at last the rats had their kidneys removed to measure protein expression of Fas, FasL, Bax and Bcl 2 genes by Western blot. Pathologic measurement had been taken. Results: After fluvastatin treatment the protein expression of Fas, FasL and Bax were more depressed and the protein expression of Bcl 2 was higher. Conclusion: Fluvastatin prevented or retarded hypertension induced renal nephropathy via inhibition of renal nephropathy fibrosis, the apoptosis might be one of the mechanisms.
