PAGE \* MERGEFORMAT 5 Hyperbaric oxygen treatment of sudden deafness complicated by middle ear barotrauma cause analysis and prevention Author: Ding Xiaohong Chen Lijuan Feng Xian, Miss Janet Wong [Keywords:] sudden deafness middle ear hyperbaric oxygen gas Middle ear barotrauma is due to pressure from inside and outside the eardrum can not be balanced and produce a kind of pathological changes, known as barotrauma otitis media. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy efficacy of sudden deafness sure, the most common complications are middle ear barotrauma, resulting in patients discontinuing treatment, missed treatment opportunity, so hyperbaric oxygen therapy should be emphasis on the prevention of middle ear barotrauma. The study of hyperbaric oxygen therapy in patients with sudden deafness were retrospectively analyzed, and explore the cause of the damage caused by middle ear pressure and the corresponding preventive measures. Are reported below. 1 Data and methods 1.1 General information from January 2004 to December 2007 the First Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Center, a total of 1019 patients with sudden deafness in patients with hyperbaric oxygen therapy, after pure-tone audiometry and acoustic impedance check diagnosed with sensorineural hearing loss, duration 1d ~ 3 months, hearing loss of 27 ~ 90dB. 426 cases were male, female 593 cases, aged 13 to 83 years old, mean age (44.97 ± 15.59) years of age. 962 cases of unilateral hearing loss, bilateral deafness in 57 cases. Mild hearing loss (26 ~ 40dB) 346 cases of moderate hearing loss (41 ~ 55dB) 446 cases of moderate and severe (56 ~ 70dB) 157 cases of severe hearing loss (amp;gt; 70dB) 70 Li. Patients were conscious, self-care. 1.2 Treatment Methods YYC2400-6818 8-person cabin air pressure (from the plant in Hangzhou novel oxygen chamber) treatment, the pressure of 0.22 Mpa, oxygen mask suction 80min, a break 5min, once daily, 10 times as a course of t
