Introduction.LactobacilluscaseiandLactobacillusacidophiluswereusedtoassesstheanti-in?ammatorypropertiesincarrageenan inducedacutein?ammatorymodel.MaterialsandMethods.Diclofenacsodiumwasusedasstandarddrugatconcentrationof 150mg/kgofbodyweight.CultureofLactobacillus2×10 CFU/mlwasgivenorally.Edemawasinducedwith1%carrageenan 7 to all the groups after one hour of the oral treatments. Paw thickness was checked at t = 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 24 hours. Stair climbingscoreandmotilityscorewereassessedat t = 24hours.CytokinesassayforIL-6,IL-10,andTNF-αwasperformed onserumsamples.Results.Lactobacillusshowedastatisticallysigni?cantdecreaseinpawthicknessatP 0.001.L.acidophilus andL.caseidecreasedby32%and28%inpawthickness.Theybothsigni?cantlyincreasedthestairclimbingandmotilityscore.
