Thevaluesofelectroniccomponents arealwaysdeviated, butthefunctions ofthemoderncircuits are more and more precise, which makes the automatic fault diagnosis of analog circuits very complex and di?cult. This paper presents an extension-neural-network-type-1- ENN-1- based method for fault diagnosis of analog circuits. This proposed method combines the extension theoryandneuralnetworkstocreateanovelneuralnetwork.Usingthematter-element modelsof faulttypesandacorrelation function, canbecalculated thecorrelation degreebetween thetested patternandeveryfaulttype;then,thecauseofthecircuitmalfunctioncanbedirectlydiagnosedby theanalysisofthecorrelationdegree.Theexperimentalresultsshowthattheproposedmethodhas ahighdiagnostic accuracy andismorefaulttolerant thanthemultilayer neural network MNN andthek-meansbasedmethods. 1.Introduction Intherealsituation,therearecertainerrorsintheelectroniccomponents.Forexample,the lastcolorringofelectronicresistanceisusedtospecifytherangeoferrors.Therefore,every component would have errors when they are produced by the factory. This would result the shift of the circuit. As long as the errors are still in the acceptable range, the circuit is stillnormal.B
