Solutionsofquiteafewhigher-orderdelayfunctionaldi?erentialequationsoscillateorconvergeto zero.Inthispaper,weobtainseveralsuchdichotomous criteriaforaclassofthird-ordernonlinear di?erentialequationwithimpulses. 1.Introduction It has been observed that the solutions of quite a few higher-order delay functional di?erentialequationsoscillateorconvergetozerosee,e.g.,therecentpaper1inwhich a third order nonlinear delay di?erential equation with damping is considered. Such a dichotomymayyieldusefulinformationinrealproblemssee,e.g.,2inwhichimplications ofthisdichotomyareappliedtothede?ectionofanelasticbeam.Thusitisofinteresttosee whethersimilardichotomiesoccurindi?erenttypesoffunctionaldi?erentialequations.
