Themodelwillthenstarttoevolvebyincorporatingbothboundaryandregioninformationfollowingtheprincipleofvariational analysis.Thedeformationwillstopwhenanequilibriumstateisachieved.Toovercomethelowcontrastoftheoriginalimage data,anonparametrickernel-basedmethodisappliedtosimultaneouslyupdatetheinteriorprobabilitydistributionduringthe modelevolution.Ourexperimentsonboth2Dand3Dimagedatademonstratethatthenewmethodisrobusttoimagenoiseand inhomogeneityandwillnotleakfromspuriousedgegaps.
