Thedynamicsofthemodelisdescribedintermsofatwo-dimensional nonlinearmappingobtained via solution ofthe second Newton’s law ofmotion. Wecharacterize the behavior ofthe average velocity oftheparticle asfunction ofthecontrolparameters aswellasthetime.Ourresultsshow thattheaveragevelocitystartsgrowingat?rstandthenbendstowardsaregimeofconstantvalue, thus con?rming that the introduction of drag force is a su?cient condition to suppress Fermi acceleration inthemodel.
