Thestudyaimedtodescribethepossibleassociationsbetweenburnouttypesandgeneralsociodemographicand occupationalcharacteristics. Methods:Across-sectionalstudywascarriedoutonamulti-occupationalsampleofrandomlyselecteduniversity employees(n=409).Thepresenceofburnouttypeswasassessedbymeansofthe“BurnoutClinicalSubtype Questionnaire(BCSQ-36)”,andthedegreeofassociationbetweenvariableswasassessedusinganadjustedodds ratio(OR)obtainedfrommultivariatelogisticregressionmodels. Results:Individualsworkingmorethan40hoursperweekpresentedwiththegreatestriskfor“frenetic”burnout comparedtothoseworkingfewerthan35hours(adjustedOR=5.69;95%CI=2.52-12.82;p0.001). Administrationandservicepersonnelpresentedthegreatestriskof“underchallenged”burnoutcomparedto teachingandresearchstaff(adjustedOR=2.85;95%CI=1.16-7.01;p=0.023).Employeeswithmorethansixteen yearsofserviceintheorganisationpresentedthegreatestriskof“worn-out”burnoutcomparedtothosewithless thanfouryearsofservice(adjustedOR=4.56;95%CI=1.47-14.16;p=0.009). Conclusions:Thisstudyisthefirsttoourknowledgethatsuggeststheexistenceofassociationsbetweenthe differentburnoutsubtypes(classifiedaccordingtothedegreeofdedicationtowork)andthedifferent sociodemographicandoccupationalcharac
