Haemoglobin and transferrin show significant clinal patterns. The observed clines may be a result of migrations and genetic drift occurring since the first domestication of ovines. The description of these patterns could contribute to improving our understanding of the evolutionary processes affecting ovine breeds. We screened 124 papers published between 1958 and 1994 in 58 journals.
