Methodology/PrincipalFindings:Resting-statefMRIwasacquiredinaMCIsubjects(n=26)andcontrols(n=18)atbaseline and after approximately 20 months follow up. Independent component analysis was used to isolate the DMN in each participant.DifferencesinDMNbetweenaMCIandcontrolswereexaminedatbaseline,andsubsequentchangesbetween baselineandfollow-upwerealsoassessedinthegroups.Posteriorcingulatecortex/precuneus(PCC/PCu)hyper-functional connectivitywasobservedatbaselineinaMCIsubjects,whileasubstantialdecrementoftheseconnectionswasevidentat follow-upinaMCIsubjects,comparedtomatchedcontrols.Specifically,PCC/PCudysfunctionwaspositivelyrelatedtothe impairmentsofepisodicmemoryfrombaselinetofollowupinaMCIgroup.
