This article discusses how four aspects of effective vocabulary instruction. First emphasized in the context of Vocabulary Teaching, also proposed to teach students to word-building and the use of more words in mind, and stressed the importance of timely review. [Abstract] As we know, words are elements of a language. Thus, in English study, it is important for teachers to find efficient ways to help the students to master more and more words. Teachers should create a real situation when teaching new words . Students should also be familiar with word formation and learn how to compare similar words. Last but not least, timely revision also plays a key role. [Keywords] Vocabulary Word-formation Situation Revision In learning English, if there is not enough vocabulary, it can not quickly read and understand. ‘High School English Syllabus’ and ‘English curriculum standards’ pointed out: the objective of teaching high school English students focus on reading comprehension and self-learning ability. But also in English Examination scores in a larger share of Reading Comprehension. Therefore, to explore some effective ways to help students remember vocabulary and to cultivate an interest and improve learning outcomes is necessary. Language is the words of the sea.
