On one hand , A- merican English has realized the path dependence successfully by following the good methods of integration and innovation 出at originated from British English. On the other hand , America has chosen the language nationalization and globalization as its t缸gets to obtain the maximum benefits. The language nationalization has laid a solid foundation for the autonomous development of American English , while its language global- ization makes American English spread to all comers of the world , which has prompted a global impact on the political , economic , language and cultural development. Therefore , the study of the pa出 dependence and target selection in American English change contributes to the correct response to 由e global expansion of American English.
