Methods A total of 6 cases of ovarian cyst pedicle torsion between March 2012 and March 2015 were retrospectively analyzed. All the patients underwent emergent laparoscopic-assisted exploration and resection of ovarian cyst. After the cyst puncture decompression, the umbilical incision was enlarged to pull the cyst outside the abdominal cavity for cystectomy.Results All the 6 cases of laparoscopic-assisted resection were successfully performed with ovarian reservation. The operation time was 45-90 min (50 ± 22 min) and the patients were discharged from hospital within 3-5 days (mean, 4 days) . All the cases were followed up for 6-12 months (mean, 10 months) . B-ultrasonic examination showed no recurrence and satisfactory cosmetic results.Conclusion Laparoscopic-assisted transumbilical excision of ovarian cyst has advantages of minimal invasion, rapid recovery, simple performance, and easy promotion, being a good choice for the treatment of complex ovarian cysts in children.
