AbstractThroughthedeepinvestigationofmanagementprocessandresultsoftheagriculturalenterprisesinnorthernAnhuiprovinceofZvillage,theauthoraretryingtoshowtheeconomicactionsoflargescalecontractfarmerinagribusiness,andhowtheeconomicactionsembeddedinthecomplicatedsocialstructureandsubjecttotheconstraints.Withthecomparisontotheoperationbenefitoftraditionalsmallpeasantmode,theauthorfoundthatsignificantscalebenefitdoesnotexistinlargescaleagriculturalenterprises.Thepapermainlydiscussesthereasonsforthesocialfactors.Thatis,tocarryontheanalysisontheeconomicactionfromamulti-layerembeddednessperspective.Thegeneraleconomicaction’ssocialembeddednesscandeconstructtopoliticalembeddedness,cultureembeddedness,organizationembeddedness,andinterpersonalrelationshipembeddedness.Throughthefieldinvestigation,theauthortookZvillageofagriculturalenterprisesasthecaseofstartingpointandfoundthatagriculturalenterpriseeconomicactionsarerestrictedbymanykindsoffactorswhenintheprocessofembeddingintothelocalsociety.Frompoliticalembeddingperspective,agriculturalbusinesseconomicactionsaretobesubjecttotheauthorityofstructuralconstraints.Thepolicychangesandthelandarecontrolledbythevillageclassorganizationmakeagriculturalbusinessownersdidnotreceivethesubsidiesexpected,whichrosetheimprovementoftheoperationcost.Fromtheculturalembeddinglevel,economicactionsaretobeinfluencedbytheculturalnormsofacquaintancessociety.TheagriculturalenterprisemanagementmixedwithChinesecharacteristicsofnepotism,whichdeviatedfromWebbsbureaucracy,leadingtotheriseinthecostofmanagementandsupervision.Fromorganizationalembeddingperspective,theself-problemofbureaucraticsystem,suchastheslowrigidhierarchysystemandtheexistenceoflevelbenefits,areunabletoadapttothecharacteristicsoftheagriculturalproduction,whichcombinednaturalpropertyandsocialpropertytogether.Finally,theembeddedinterpersonalrelationshipcausedthedeviationoftheobjectiveofmainprofitmaximization,soeconomicactionsandeconomicdecision-makingshowsblindnessandindulgent.Afterall,thesefactor
