Its content involves cognizance, value, aesthetic, way of thinking and other aspects. Harmony between man and nature contains a wealth of aesthetics and ecological philosophy. Its aesthetics helps us to form a new and right aesthetic concept. Its eco-ethics are important references for the response to the current ecological crisis, and building a harmonious world and society. In reference to historical data, the thought of harmony between man and nature with its aesthetics and ecological philosophy implied has been systematically sorted and comprehensive analyzed in this paper, with methods such as uniting logic and historical, comparative analysis and so on. Detailed division is done on various meaning of nature, the basic types of the thought of harmony between man and nature concept and characteristics for each different type. The social background and different stages of evolution of harmony between man and nature is reviewed. Positive evaluation and new interpretation on the dominant idea of this ancient culture spirit are given based on Marxist philosophy and modern civilization. This paper focuses on the aesthetics and eco-ethics of harmony between man and nature and discusses it in three parts. Firstly, it points out that the aesthetics of harmony between man and nature undoubtedly has modern values. It is of coherence in all aspects of ancient Chinese art, and is shown through the development and characteristics of Chinese classical aesthetics. Secondly, the ecological consciousness of harmony between man and nature including rich ecological wisdom, which emphasizes the coordination of human beha vior and natural rules, and the consistency of moral and natural logos, coincides with modern ecological ethics.
