PAGE PAGE 10 The Investigation of Dietetic Life-nourishing Based on Huangdi Neijing ABSTRACT Objective: This thesis is in order to systematically explore and classify the contents of Huangdi Neijing, which are about dietetic life-nourishing. Meanwhile, it studies and concludes the theory of dietetic life-nourishing in Huangdi Neijing; in addition, it combs and builds the system information of health preservation of TCM. Methods: This text adopts the literature study method, the comparative method and induction to study. Results: This thesis arranges numbers of points of over 40 chapters that involved in the theory and practice of diet-related aspects in Huangdi Neijing, and it makes these points be systematic and ordinary. First of all, this text retrospects the historical background and cultural base of the theory of regimen of diet. Based on Huangdi Neijing, it discusses that the influences were brought to the development of dietetic life-nourishing and dietary therapy by the theories from this book. Especially, the author discourse that dietetic life-nourishing in Huangdi Neijing impact on East Asia the development of food culture in ancient. Furthermore, this text describes dietetic life-nourishing in Huangdi Neijing that is based on the theory of seasonal conditions, local conditions and individual physique, the theory of yin and yang, the theory of five elements and, the theory of the essence, qi and spirit. Moreover, it discusses the improper diet of causing disease and the relations between diet recurrence and disease. Finally, according to compare with the Western diet of different food culture, it obtains the characteristics of the theory of dietetic life-nourishing in Huangdi Neijing. Conclusion: The construction of the theory of dietetic life-nourishing in Huangdi Neijing, based on various pre-Qin schools of thoughts with the diet，especially infulenced by Taoist thought of nihility.
