５ ５ Objective: Abstract To verify the clinical effects and the feasibility of applying in basic level of curing knee osteoarthritis(OA) using electro-acupuncture, om package of Chinese medicine combined with rehabilitation exercise,and to normalize and detailing every step of operation and technical parameters simultaneously.So as to achieve the purpose for repeating and extending application,and develop the advantages of curing the knee OA with traditional Chinese medicine. Method: According the diagnostic and inclusive criteria,there were 198 cases with knee osteoarthritis included in this clinical trial.A multicentral,random and controlled method was used,we devided 198 patients into two groups and they were given different treatments respectively.Ninety-nine patients in treatment group were given electro-acupuncture, om package of Chinese medicine combined with rehabilitation exercise once a day for continuous 5 days a week as a course of treatment.Then they were arraged to take a rest for the surplus 2 days in a week and they should do rehabilitation exercise by themselves.they were given 3 courses of treatment,that was 3 weeks in all.The other 99 patients in control group were given diclofenac sodium spansule 50mg twice a day for three weeks(diclofenac sodium spansule was produced by Nanjing Chang ao pharmaceutical Co.Ltd,24 capsules in a box).We assessed each patients using the WOMAC, knee joint symptoms score and psychological and social adjustment scale at each time point:before treatment, one week after treatment, two week after treatment,and the end of treatment. Results: ６ ６ Eectro-acupuncture, om package of Chinese medicine combined with rehabilitation exercise,the treatment of osteoarthritis of the knee compared with oral diclofenac sodium sustained-release capsules, the treatment group was 96%, the control group was 92%, the treatment of the two groups were statistically, the curative effect in the treatment group was superior to the control group.
