As an important component of vocabulary, color terms have been explored by many linguists. This thesis, bringing color terms into the aspects of human experience, attempts to do a cognitive research into the understanding of English and Chinese color terms by employing the theory of cognitive model and context so as to give a more specific and effective way of drawing the cultural connotations of English and Chinese color terms.
